One person in Romeo & Juliet that interested me was Mercutio. Mercutio was Romeos best friend. Mercutio and Romeo did everything together. Every time that Romeo needed advice Mercutio was there for him. Mercutio is probably the craziest person in the book. He is always doing something crazy no matter where he is. For example in the movie he was shooting the beach and dressed up as a woman to go to a party that they were sneaking into. He doesn’t think about what he is doing and that is a reason why he gets killed.

            Mercutio doesn’t really understand Romeo. Mercutio is an average teenager. He just wants to live life and have fun. He doesn’t understand Romeos feelings. This goes back to how he is courageous. He lives life fast and doesn’t really think about other people. This is why he doesn’t understand Romeo and his love. Going back to the last paragraph where I said Him being crazy is the reason he got killed was very important. Since he acts so reckless he got into a fight with Tybalt. This fight ended up with him dead. If Mercutio didn’t act so crazy he might’ve stayed alive. He had what was coming to him. As he was dying he finally had a moment where he was saying something important. It was a big change from his normal character. He said “A plague a' both your houses!” When he says this he is realizing that the feud between the two families was getting slightly out of hand. No one should have died because of this. It was a very noble thing for a character like him to say.

            Mercutio was the craziest person in the book before he died. He might not have seemed important but he really was. He helped Romeo with his best advice when Romeo was love struck. It is sad that the first time that he gives good advice is the time that he dies. He went from being the wildest to one of the most important quotes in the book. He might be crazy, but he’s extremely helpful.

The song I chose is ''50 Ways to Make a Record'' By Kid Cudi. This song has many messages like how it is good to be yourself and how you base yourself off of what other people think. These messages are very important in every persons life. He wanted the listener to think about how they live their lifestyle and how society shapes us. He also says how you should never give in to what other people think.
          In the song he says you shouldn't let people tell you how to live. He says "Now don't get wrapped into the hype and what they think. This ain't rocket science and the scene changes with beats.
And now you ask yourself, how you want to be seen." This is saying that you should think about how you act and how you really are in the inside. He wants you to look and see how you are acting to impress others and not acting like yourself. It is also saying don't worry about what other people think about you. Being different is a good thing because it makes you different from everyone else.

          This song can have a lot of different interpretations. There are many messages that he has placed into this song. Every message is equally important. If you really pay close attention to every song you will find an important message. These messages will help you become a better person and help you live life like you should.

In the article “Climate Change Kills 400,000 a Year, New Report Reveals” by Mark Hertsgaard there are many shocking statistics and facts about how humans are affecting the earth and the earth is affecting us. Every day humans are destroying the environment. There are some ways we can help this but in a lot of ways we can't. Some necessities are bad for the environment but we need them in order to survive. There are also careless things that we do like leaving the lights on or using more natural resources then we really need.

 

Like it says in the title, our bad decisions can lead to death over the years. "The new report is another reminder that climate change's most savage impact is poverty and hunger.'' This shows that because of our choices to hurt the environment can leave people starving for days and a lot of people barely have any money at all. The harsh environment of Earth kills on average about 1,000 kids a day. Not only is it causing deaths it is costing everyone money. Climate change costs the worlds economy 1.2 trillion dollars a year. A lot of that money is being wasted on because of careless people that don’t pay attention to what they are doing that affects the Earth.

 
I think that people should be more cautious about the resources they use. People might think that just one person can't really harm the environment but that mindset is wrong. If a lot of people make bad decisions it all adds up. Each person contributes a little until it is all gathered up and causes a huge effect. If people think more they will use less and it will save them money and it will save peoples lives.

I agree with the article because it is expressing that there needs to be a big change in how we treat the earth. Hundreds of thousands of innocent people are dying because some people are careless. If we dont change the way that we act that number is going to increase until we finally decide to do something about it. Another point the author is expressing is that one person can not change the world that drastically. Everybody needs to work together to try and stop polluting and destroying the earth so people stop dying.

In the third book of the Gatekeepers  one of the two twin brothers get kidnapped. The people from nightrise corporation took Scott. Jaime got away when a woman that was at his illusion show appeared and picked him up when he was about to get kidnapped. If she wasn’t there he might of gotten killed. She took him back to his house but she wouldn’t let him go alone. She knew that the police would be after him because he was framed for two murders.

            When they were at Jaime’s house the police barged in. Whenever the police went into one room Jaime and the woman would go into the next. When they finally caught up with her the police officer just looked at them and didn’t say anything. Finally when the officer left he said that they’re not in there. When she asked how he could do that he got angry and said he didn’t like to talk about it.

I believe that as the story goes on Jaime will find Scott. Then when they find each other they will be another two of the five elite kids that were meant to save the world. They have already found two of the kids in the last two books. I think they will meet up with the other two special kids. I can tell that they are part of the five because they have the same dreams as the other two

In the end of the book “EVIL STAR” it was very exciting and action packed. Matt, the main character, failed to stop a satellite from opening the gate. The satellite was used as an artificial star to open up the gate. When the gate was opened it released the “old ones” who were ancient creatures that are giant and want to destroy the world. Since Matt is one of the five elite kids who needs to protect all of the gates from opening he has special powers. Him and Pedro who also has powers put their powers together and badly damaged the old ones.

            Their powers weren’t enough to destroy the old ones but they badly damaged them. It put Matt in a coma and broke Pedro’s bones. They believe that the old ones are still on earth but no one can see them because they are hiding. Matt and Pedro took away so much of their power that it will take a long time for it to regenerate. A lot of people in Peru heard the great battle that went on with Matt but no one knew where it came from because it was in the middle of an isolated desert. Even if Matt told people what happened no one would believe him, one because he is a kid, and two because if someone told you that magical creatures came out from the earth and are trying to destroy the world you would probably laugh in their face and call them crazy.

In the next book I think the old ones will come back more powerful then before. I also believe that Matt and Pedro will find another one of the “five”. They will band together and defeat the “old ones”. I also think they will have to find another gate to stop the old ones from returning. Matt doesn’t want to be apart of this and I don’t blame him. He never knew he was going to get so involved. I hope in the next book this is what happens.

“Freedom Summer” is a very powerful picture book. It expresses many opinions about racial tolerance and not judging other people. There are two kids that are friends and one is black and one is white. Its starts out with them hanging out and having fun. As the story progresses it gets sad then it makes you feel hopeful.

            In the middle of the book a law was just passed that blacks can go to the same places as white people. The two main characters were so excited that they woke up early and ran to the public pool. When they get there they are very disappointed. They see the pool being filled up with tar. The African-American character is sad because he feels different from everyone else.

The main theme of this story is equal rights for everyone. Just because someone’s skin color is different doesn’t mean that the person is any different. The color of your skin does not effect who you are as a person. In the end of the book it shows them walking into the store to buy ice pops. In the beginning of the story the African-American has to wait outside while the white character gets the ice pops. The last drawing in the book shows them walking into the store with their arms around each other’s shoulders. This shows hope that things will be getting better.
